After her arrival on Earth in 1890,the Scarlet Lion began gathering an army of both dead and undead servants. Beginning in Switzerland, she swept across Eurasia with her armies. She was defeated at the Battle of the Eiffel Tower, but her next-in-command, Mylo emerged from the battle and took up the cause. Under his administration, the Scarlet Lion's holdings became known as the Leonine Hegemony, the desolate, wintery lands of Eastern Europe. Upon his destruction, the tide of the Second Leonine War changed, and his empire crumbled. The smaller country which survived the conflict was renamed the Leonine Republic.
